TOAD is a tool for managing, executing Oracle schema objects and to perform various DBA related tasks. TOAD contains variety of database options that is required for any database developer or administrator. In this article we will learn how to create table from one schema to another schema, and to copy the data from one schema to another schema through TOAD.

Suppose we have one table “TESTING” with 2 columns created in “Schema 1”.

We have another schema “Schema 2” where we want to copy the “TESTING” table from “Schema 1”.

Now, follow following steps to create table and copy data from one schema to another.

Step 1: login both the schema’s “Schema 1” and “Schema 2” in TOAD.

Step 2: Click on Schema Browser from the menu of “Schema 1”.

Step 3: Under “Tables” menu select the “TESTING” table and right click on it.

Step 4: Click on “Create in another schema” option and press “OK”.

Step 5: Under “Destination” tab select “Destination Connection” and “Destination Schema” options for Schema 2.

Step 6: Click on “Execute” button.

After clicking the “Execute” button, you will find the “TESTING” table is created successfully in “Schema 2”. Now, to copy the data of “TESTING” table from Schema 1 to Schema 2 follow following steps:

Step 1: login both the schema’s “Schema 1” and “Schema 2” in TOAD.

Step 2: Click on Schema Browser from the menu of “Schema 1”.

Step 4: Click on “Copy data to another schema” option.

Step 5: Under “Source/Dest and Options” tab select “Destination Connection” and “Destination Schema” options for Schema 2.

Step 6: Click on “Execute” button.

After clicking the “Execute” button, you will find the data from “TESTING” table in schema 1 is copied to Schema 2 table.

This is how we can use the features of TOAD to move objects between different schemas.
